While trying to put something together !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the A-10, I came across these Air Force Institute of Technology Systems Engineering case studies for significant systems. They detail the design and deployment of aircraft and systems and look for lessons that may be learned. They are published on open sites and provide some interesting insights into how these systems came about and how they did in service. Enjoy the light reading.

Very cool.
I won't read any of these though. Far too much SCIENCE! for my lowly History degree to comprehend.

Wow. I hadn't ever read much about the competing gun system for the GAU-8. And maybe it's because my reading material as a child was Aviation and Space Weekly and the Warbirds Illustrated series, but this isn't dry at all. This stuff is wild. Thanks for sharing.
